Bernard Burgaud Cote Roti Rhone France
95 Decanter ~ 94 Jeb Dunnuck
Bernard Burgaud is one of the more understated producers of the Côte-Rôtie appellation, making just one wine from 100% Syrah.
Densely colored but not opaque. Showing a smoky, meaty, expressive nose with a touch of fresh blood and garrigue herbs. Medium-bodied, you immediately feel the freshness and marked acidity. Extremely vibrant for the vintage. Well-balanced, this is really precise and intense. The oak is well-integrated, well-judged and not excessive, finishing with polished, fine tannins.
